The Society held a historic and delightful gathering in the “Rooms” attended by members and guests. Following a delicious BBQ prepared by the Officers, a debate on the Scottish referendum for independence slated for vote in Scotland on September 18, 2014 was held. The moderator, member Andrew Patterson introduced the subject and the two debaters, members James Sinkins for Independence and James McPhee for Union. Both gentlemen presented their side with conviction and humor and then offered their rebuttal. After questions from the audience and a vote members and guests retired to the wee kitchen for steaming haggis and tasty neeps with tatties.
