Then they were whisked up to the Rooms where a our members gave them a warm reception and hosted them for a light supper. The commander of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, presented a handsome plaque from the 6th Glasgow Battalion to the Society. Our President graciously received the plaque.
The Scottish soldiers retraced the historic journey from Montreal to New York. On their way south the Scots participated in a memorial at Fort Ticonderoga and spent a night at Fort William Henry, before paddling to Stillwater. The guests then paddled to Albany, which was the winter quarters of the Royal Scots from 1757-1759. After a warm reception at the rooms, the friends from the Royal Regiment of Scotland motored to Stuyvesant, NY for the night.
