Vice President Burke MC’s the celebration
The Society’s Burns Night celebration on January 23 was a great success with members and guests gathering to remember the Bard with toasts to the Queen, the President, lads and lassies and the address to the haggis. President Bruce Newell opened the festivities with a welcome to those attending, and then 2nd Vice President Bill Burke took over as master of ceremonies. Members shared readings from Burns and one of our members shared the shared the story of his heritage back to an ancestor who had dealings with Burns.
