One of the most famous Scottish actors was Sean Connery, the first (and some say the best) James Bond in the movies. Connery was born on August 25, 1930 in Edinburgh. When he was 16 years old he joined the Royal Navy. During his time in the service he had a tattoo applied that said “Scotland Forever”.
As James Bond, Sean Connery appeared in Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, and Never Say Never Again. He was knighted in 2000 by Queen Elizabeth.
