Members of the Society gathered in front of the St. Andrew’s monument in Albany Rural Cemetery on Sunday afternoon to observe Remembrance Day. The monument was designed by late member David Lithgow and dedicated in 1948. It is in the center of the St. Andrew’s Society’s section of the cemetery. The Service of Remembrance was conducted by Society Chaplain, the Rev. John Nixon McMillan. President Shook welcomed those gathered and introduced member James Burns, Chairman of the Society’s Cemetery Committee. Mr. Burns explained the long tradition of the Society’s involvement at the Cemetery where a number of our past presidents are interred. Willard Bruce, a member of the Society and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cemetery led a tour of the Cemetery visiting some of the grave sites with historical significance to the Society. The tour ended at the Cemetery Chapel where a
reception prepared by Society Steward John Scott was enjoyed.
