June 2014
Past President Roger Creighton has moved to California to reside closer to his family. Roger was President of the Society 1993-1995 and has served us in many ways. He and Past President John Willison co-authored the two-volume history of the Society that covered the two-hundred-year-perod from the time of our founding in 1803 to 2003. He has been and continues to be a mentor, counselor, advisor and friend to the Past Presidents and Officers of the Society. Our website begins with his overview of our history. Roger is faithful to the ideals and vision of the Society and subscribes to our Creed and Motto. He is well-known for his gifts. His vision that Scottish music will return to the Rooms will become a reality through the gift of his piano to the Society. It will be put in place later this summer. Even though he is out of the area, he continues to share his thoughts about the work of the Society and will be available to provide counsel through email; for that we are grateful. We will miss him at our meetings but he assures us that he will visit us when in the area.
Roger’s contact: Roger L. Creighton, 11889 Skyline Blvd., #137, Oakland, California 94619; telephone: 510-531-6976. We will publish his email addresss when it is set up.
